The term Sono derives from the Portuguese verb meaning to sleep or dream insinuating an abstract and subconscious quality to the piece. The Sono series premiered at Design Miami Basel Fair in Basel, Switzerland June 2006. Rama was drawn to the possibility of utilizing the common place packing material and transforming the humble material into a refined elegance. The cross-section of the tubes form patterns reminiscent of cellular structures or lace. Each piece is hand-made and unique.
